Well we had her second opinion eye appointment today and let me just say I was way more impressed this time around. They dilated her eyes and then looked in them. Dr. Tyschen stated right on the spot that she has Strabismus (sp?) and that she would need surgery to fix it. While this is scary at least its a solution and not a blow off. Dr. Tyschen also suggested that Trystyn have this test that is kind of like an EEG. This will tell us how bad the CVI is or if there is a break in the part of the brain that controls sight. For me this is really exciting. To actually know if she has any sight or none at all. I think she has some sight because of how she has been doing at visual therapy.
We also received her Kid Kart this afternoon. I was so excited, the guy probably thinks I'm a little crazy. But, we finally have a seat that she can sit in and not look like she is sliding out of it. While it is totally obvious now that there is something wrong with her, I just don't care because she sits in it so well. Plus, I am thinking since we got the other base that raises up and down we can feed her in it as well and depending on how she does hopefully give "Old Sparky" back to the Delta Gamma Center.
I am also wondering if anyone knows how long seizures would need to go untreated in a 4 1/2 week old infant before the seizures caused significant damage? I am pretty sure that I am going to see a different neuro, really just to see what he/she would have to say.
If anyone has any answers or suggestions that would be great.
